At the start of the day Team USA held a 6 point lead through 2 sessions. This was the largest lead through 2 sessions ever in the history of The Presidents Cup. After day three it has turned into the biggest butt whoopin in the history of golf.
The after the morning sessions the US was up 11.5 to 2.5 winning all of their matches but the anchor match, and they drew a half there. Other than the anchor match none of the other matches made it to the final hole. The highlight of the morning was Jordan Spieth nearly ending his match from the middle of the fairway on the 15th hole. What we didn’t know was that Patrick Reed told him if he holed it he would dive in the pond. Spieth had his approach shot back up over the edge of the hole.
The afternoon session was more of the same with only one match going all the way to 18. The US Team lost the match 1 up but had they won the match we would have secured the cup on Saturday afternoon. Instead the US Team will need to only win one match on Sunday in singles play to win the Cup. This puts us at 14.5 to 3.5!
Were going to list the singles matches and who we think is going to win in bold.
Chappell vs Leishman
Hoffman vs Day
Thomas vs Matsuyama
Berger vs Kim
Kuchar vs Schwartzel
Reed vs Oostheizen
Johnson vs Grace
Koepka vs Scott
Spieth vs Vegas
Kisner vs Lahiri
Mickelson vs Hadwin
Fowler vs Grillo
Dads Say So, outside of a comeback that would make the Patriots win over the Falcons look like childs play, tomorrow is going to be a coronation of what may possibly be the greatest team ever assembled in team golf. Based on our predictions the US Team will win 24.5 to 5.5. The celebration will come early and the US crowd will have a lot to cheer about. The US Team has played great all week and the International Team couldn’t find its groove or a putt. We will say Congrats to the US Team tonight and enjoy the walk tomorrow.
