The 2017 edition of The Presidents Cup will be contested in the shadow of Lady Liberty herself at Liberty National Golf Club.  Located in Jersey City, NJ, Liberty National has made a quick name for itself hosting The Barclays FedEx Cup playoff event in 2009 and 2013.

The course was designed by Bob Cupp and Tom Kite and opened its doors on July 4, 2006.  It plays nearly 7400 yards and boasts everything that The Golfing Dads really like about a course.  There are long and short par 3’s, long and driveable par 4’s and 3 shot par 5’s as well as a couple of risk reward ones.  The course has a very links feeling to it as the 9th green is the furthest point from the club house, so there is no stopping for a hot dog at the turn.

This week it and its very contemporary club house will play host to some of the best players in the world competing for pride, a trophy, and some money going to their charities.  This course is just the course to be up for the test that the players are going to provide this week.

A cool fact about the course, there is a helicopter landing pad on property so if you are a member and are staying in New York City you can fly in and land and fly back after playing your round.  It is a nice touch to not have to deal with the city traffic and something that not too many of us will every experience but the people who do can avoid the rush of the city traffic.

Dads Say So, with everything that is going on in this country it will be a great week to showcase a premier golf event at Liberty National!  No matter your feelings for the current turmoil with the NFL an amazing team event at Liberty National could be just what we all need to keep our mind off of everything else.  No matter what side you will be rooting for root loud.  We will be rooting for the Red, White and Blue and Team USA!
