At the start of Round 3 there were concerns about Mother Nature having her say at the results of round 3. There was a lot of wind and not a lot of rain that the players had to deal with in.
At the end of the day 9 under par held the lead, the same score that held the lead at after 2 rounds. The wind reek havoc on the course and made the round longer than expected. If you want to know the best way to make the tour play slow…its add wind. Its the speed killer.
JB Holmes played a great round shooting a 2 under par 70 to get to the top of the leaderboard. He is tied there by Kyle Stanley who shot 72 today but made an amazing shot, considering the pressure, on 17 when he hit gap wedge over the top of the flag stick and backed it up to a few inches for a tap in birdie.
The 12 hole had a few fun shots there today. S W Kim hit one off a tree right of the green that ended up bounding onto the green for a 2 putt birdie. Phil Mickelson hit an iron that rolled off the green and stopped on the hazard line with out rolling into the water. Rory McIlroy hit a 1 iron that landed at 285 yards straight down wind and flew over the back of the green at some 320 yards…Let me clarify 320 Yard 1 Iron…
Dads Say So that Sunday is shaping up to be another amazing final round at The Players. There are a bunch of players who all have a shot at winning their own personalized Waterford Crystal. Pat Perez shot a 66 going out early today and anyone within 4 shots of the lead has a realistic chance depending on the round of golf they play. TPC Sawgrass is set up for risk reward golf on Sunday and it will be must watch TV. We hope you enjoy it as much as we will.
