Ian Poulter had a great week at Harbour Town and after battling to get to a point where he had one event to make $31,000 to get the money necessary to get his card back he missed the cut in San Antonio so he will have to rely on sponsors exemptions the rest of the year if he wants to tee it up.
Ian took a major medical exemption last year due to a foot injury that kept him sidelined for four months. After playing well last week things were looking up going into his last event as a result of the exemption and we were pulling for him to get it done.
There was a point every two years that, as Americans, we hated Poulter. He was a thorn in the side of the American Ryder Cup Team as Europe dominated the Americans and Poulter was the boisterous intense European leading the charge.
Dads Say So we enjoy Poulter. Sure he may be foul mouthed and his pants may be something we would never be caught dead in but that is what makes him who he is. It is disappointing that he won’t have full status on the tour going forward but, were sure he will have plenty of opportunities from sponsors to tee it up the rest of the year. Besides, if he is home at Lake Nona working on his game it will give him more opportunities to make the rest of us jealous showing off his car collection on social media.
