In years past, all former Major Championship winners and US Amateur winners were allowed to not only participate in the Wednesday Par 3 Tournament but also play in practice rounds with the participants early in the week. This year the club has changed the rules for participation.

Now you have to be included in the field or a past champion of The Masters. This change makes it so players like David Duval, Ian Baker-Finch, and Greg Norman will not be able to play in the Par 3 Tournament.

Yes the club has changed rules over the year and we all know that no winner of the Par 3 has gone on to win the tournament. Maybe these changes will allow the winner of the Par 3 to finally break through and put the green jacket on Sunday afternoon.

Dads Say So we don’t mind the changes to the rules. Sure it was fun to see the other players come out and have some fun but this week isn’t about them. It should be a memory of past champions and the rest of the players in the field. Its fun to see the players come out with their children in the caddy bibs and have a day where everyone laughs and smiles and hole in one roars fill up the tree tops of the grounds.
