Today, Tiger announced he will not be a part of the field next week for The Masters. There has been a lot of speculation back and forth on if he was or wasn’t going to show up.
This really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. If you thought that Tiger was going to return to Augusta after taking off all of this time with a bad back and not battle test it you were crazy.
The golf course is one of the hardest walks in all of golf with all of the hills. That alone could cause his back to flare up never mind the amount of torque on his back from his swing.
Not to mention the short game needed to tackle the course with as much slope and the speed of the greens. Were slightly afraid that he could have shown up and hit those “chili pepper” chip shots he was hitting a couple years ago when he got the short game yips.
Yes, Tiger will be at the Champions Dinner on Tuesday so we may get a picture of him. While we all wish we could be there to get in and ask him about his back none of us have the necessary ticket, errr green jacket, to get in.
Dads Say So we wanted Tiger to play at Augusta. This being the 20th anniversary of that amazing first victory. He may not have had the time to prep for the first major of the year, but if there was ever a horse for a course this is the thoroughbred you want to pick. The tournament will go on with out him and come next Sunday afternoon the back nine will be drama filled as always but it would have been nice to see that WOODS name on the large white leader board.
